What are the responsibilities and job description for the Telecommunicator I position at Calhoun County 9-1-1 District?
Calhoun County 9-1-1 is now accepting applicants to join a NEW CLASS of Emergency 9-1-1 Telecommunicators.
This job demands that you continuously listen and rapidly process information for data entry, as such communications is given/heard in a fast-paced and constantly-changing environment. This will require you to accurately understand a set of given facts, often during chaotic or confusing circumstances, all while simultaneously completing mandatory task(s) related to emergency telecommunications. YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE to work ANY shift 24-7-365 with assignments made based on seniority.
Qualified applicants must successfully complete cognitive/aptitude skills testing, psychological assessment, typing tests, medical physical examination, drug test and a personal interview before peer committee. A comprehensive criminal background investigation is required including NCIC fingerprinting. Applicants must have no felony involvements and maintain a valid Alabama Driver's license.
