CONTRACT: $7,500
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma
- Current American Red Cross CPR/AED and first aid certification; certification to teach course desired
- Current Water Safety Instruction (WSI) certification
- Current Lifeguard certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire date
- Current Certified Pool Operator (CPO)/Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire date
- Proficient Microsoft Office software skills, email and Internet
- Excellent communication (oral, written and listening) and interpersonal relations skills
- Hire and oversee assignment and supervision of qualified staff necessary for pool programming
- Handle complaints, questions and concerns related to the pool within the scope of responsibility
- Prepare and perform regular in-service training for lifeguards and instructors including but not limited to health and safety regulations, pool surveillance, responsibility to the public, teaching techniques, equipment use, accident procedures, etc.
- Monitor all mechanical functions of the pool to ensure health and safety standards are maintained
- Promote the utilization of the pool through quality programming, publicity, advertising, etc. to enhance the community's understanding and support
- Prepare a yearly program budget and recommend use fees which meet the cost of the program
- Requisition necessary program equipment and supplies
- Maintain records including but not limited to employee attendance, certification, accident reports, pool reports, time sheets, etc., process forms, collect fees and perform other administrative tasks
- Develop and implement procedures for dealing with the conduct and discipline of participants using the pool facilities within established school district policies
