Job Description
The Community Engagement Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining productive relationships between the Credit Union and the communities located within the service area of the Main Branch. This employee will travel around the service area representing the Credit Union at chamber and community events, municipalities, school districts, associations, businesses and other groups of current and future members. This position will also work with the Marketing Department to promote Calhoun Liberty Credit Union in the surrounding communities.

Working Conditions
The working conditions will vary depending on the agenda for the day’s activities. Some responsibilities will take this position outdoors to community related events where weather conditions will play a role in comfort as well as vehicle management. The role involves regular interaction with members of the community requiring exceptional presentation and communication skills. Depending on the events at which the employee attends, he or she may need to work flexible schedules, including weekends and some evenings. The job also entails a high level of initiative and a need to represent the Credit Union in a professional manner at all times.
Physical Requirements
The physical requirements include the ability to drive, stand or sit for extended periods of time. Employee will be moving throughout the community setting up and attending events which may require sitting, standing, speaking, reaching, bending, and performing repetitive motions. The job may also involve lifting up to 50 pounds and carrying product or equipment, which can vary in weight. The ability to operate computer systems and software applications is necessary, which may involve using a keyboard and mouse for prolonged periods. While specific physical requirements may vary depending on the activity or meeting, overall, the role requires physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks with precision and efficiency.
Travel
This position constantly travels daily throughout the communities within our northwest Florida region. When not traveling, this position will be based within the main branch as a contributor to the Loan and Marketing Departments. Some periodic travel to co-op sites throughout the State of Florida will be required.

Job Description

- Develop and coordinate community events, workshops, and presentations to promote credit union services.
- Organize and participate in local events, fairs, and sponsorships to raise awareness of the credit union's offerings.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local businesses, non-profits, and community organizations to create referral networks and identify new business opportunities.
- Promote the credit union's services to local business owners for both commercial and personal banking solutions.
- Research and identify emerging trends, local market needs, and competitor offerings to inform community engagement and business development strategies.
- Conduct surveys or focus groups to understand community financial needs and preferences.
- Engage potential members and current members, educating them on the credit union's services, benefits, and unique offerings.
- Provide one-on-one consultations to explain financial products such as loans, mortgages, savings accounts, and investment opportunities.
- Promote and encourage members to take advantage of consumer and commercial loan offerings, including home loans, auto loans, and small business loans.
- Educate potential borrowers on credit union loan benefits, eligibility, and application processes.
- Actively pursue leads for new members and commercial clients through outreach, networking, and relationship building.
- Meet or exceed business development targets related to loan origination, new memberships, and other financial products.
- Work closely with the marketing team to create materials, campaigns, and messaging that align with the credit union’s objectives and community engagement goals.
- Help develop digital content, including social media posts, blog articles, and email newsletters, to support awareness-building efforts.
- Provide financial education through seminars, webinars, and other community engagement activities focused on personal finance topics (e.g., budgeting, debt management, credit building).
- Collaborate with schools, libraries, and local organizations to promote financial literacy initiatives.
- Offer exemplary customer service to potential and existing members, ensuring that their needs are met and that the credit union’s services are tailored to their financial goals.
- Handle inquiries, resolve complaints, and facilitate a positive experience throughout the engagement process.
- Maintain a strong presence in the local community, attending regular meetings with local leaders, business owners, and community groups.
- Foster long-term relationships with community stakeholders to ensure ongoing support and advocacy for the credit union.
- Monitor the effectiveness of community engagement and business development efforts through tracking metrics, sales data, and member feedback.
- Provide regular reports to leadership on progress toward goals, highlighting successful initiatives and areas for improvement.
- Attend industry conferences, expos, and networking events to promote the credit union and stay informed on trends in the financial services and community engagement sectors.
- Represent the credit union at local civic meetings and regional business development initiatives.
- Collaborate in office with management and co-workers. This is not a remote position.
Knowledge of Financial Products:
- In-depth understanding of personal and commercial loans, savings accounts, investments, and other financial products offered by the credit union.
- Familiarity with credit union regulations, eligibility requirements, and industry best practices.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including business owners, community leaders, and individual members.
- Experience in managing events and coordinating community outreach efforts.
- Proven experience in sales or business development, with the ability to generate leads, close sales, and meet targets for loan origination, membership growth, and product offerings.

Required Education And Experience
- A four-year degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, Finance or a related field is preferred. Years of applicable experience equivalent to a four-year degree may be substituted for this requirement.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to be approved by our insurance company, based on driving record, is required.
- Two (2) or more years of experience in the field of marketing, promotions, advertising, business, and/or related fields.
- Moderate level of computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office necessary.
- Lending experience and/or knowledge of financial services in a financial institution is strongly encouraged.
- Experience in sales or business development is preferred.
- Presentation skills are required, including the need to build materials in PowerPoint and/or Google.
