Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager with a hunter mentality to join our team. This role involves prospecting new customers through telemarketing, internet research, referrals, leads, and networking. The ideal candidate will initiate contact with current and potential customers to build and grow strategic partnerships that meet both their current and future needs. Additionally, this role supports daily capacity requirements across each market within Calhoun Truck Lines’ expanding service footprint.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospecting & Lead Generation: Identify and generate new sales opportunities through research, understanding key decision-makers, and determining the best approach for customer engagement, focusing on shipper and manufacturer direct business.
- Strategic Partnerships: Initiate and nurture relationships with current and potential customers to build strategic partnerships that align with their needs.
- Collaborative Solutions: Partner with internal teams to create customer solutions, including pricing strategies, solution implementation, and future growth potential.
- Proposal Management: Identify and creatively respond to RFPs/RFQs and bid requests.
- Driver Recruitment Support: Assist in driver recruitment efforts, including contacting potential drivers, following up on leads, and maintaining accurate records in the applicant tracking system.
- Client Presentations: Participate in meetings to present proposals, offer solutions, and close business opportunities.
- Onboarding Coordination: Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure successful customer onboarding and implementation.
- CRM Management: Maintain up-to-date and accurate customer information and sales activities in the company CRM.
- Business Growth: Contribute to company growth by identifying new business opportunities and optimizing both internal and external service offerings.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of related experience preferred.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal and sales skills; strong written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
