Cashier

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while handling transactions accurately and efficiently. As a Cashier, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive shopping experience for our customers. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Duties

• Process customer transactions using cash registers and point-of-sale systems with accuracy.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Assist customers with product inquiries and provide information about promotions and sales.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance customer engagement and drive sales.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and surrounding displays.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and assist in supervising junior staff when necessary.
• Utilize basic math skills to perform retail math calculations for transactions and inventory management.

Experience

• Previous experience in a retail or cashier role is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with cash handling procedures and experience using cash registers is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
• Basic math skills are essential for processing transactions accurately.
• Experience in retail sales or product demonstrations is a plus, as it enhances the ability to engage customers effectively.
