Summary/objective
The Quality Assurance Inspector performs quality inspections in accordance with quality work instructions. Processes raw material or calibrate inspection tooling as needed. Ensures work is performed ethically while achieving the objectives stated in the Company Quality Policy. Ensure work is completed efficiently and properly while following company safety policies and procedures. Performs other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Essential functions

- Perform quality inspections, inspect products received from outside vendors.
- Inspect the product at various stages of production (in-line or final inspection).
- Record and report nonconforming products.
- Inspect material and verify associated documents for accuracy.
- Calibrate inspection tooling, perform calibration on inspection tooling as needed.
- Must be able to use a micrometer, bore gage, and visual comparator.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Ensure floors and equipment are clean and dry, the workstation is uncluttered, and all machines and equipment are free from any hazards.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to department expectations.
- Meet/exceed department performance expectations such as throughput, productivity, quality, and safety.

- Verifying that products meet design requirements. Escalate nonconforming parts to the proper personnel.
- Verify that inspection tools function as intended.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- The Quality Assurance Inspector does not have supervisory responsibilities
Work Environment
- The work environmental characteristics described here are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- The typical level of noise for the work environment of this position is moderate (business offices with office machines and/or computer printers, light traffic).
- Work is performed near moving mechanical parts, in high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals.
- The job may require occasional presence in technical lab or machine shop areas, presenting higher than usual environmental hazards and noise levels due to proximity to moving machinery.
- Position may require occasional use of stair ladders or ladders to access products or material in high locations.
Physical Demands
- The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands or arms.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) and the ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus) is required to read documents and drawings on paper and computer screens, inspect parts/components, inspect machines and read documents and drawings.
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors) is not required but beneficial to distinguish documents and markings.
- Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships) and the ability to adjust focus is necessary to evaluate and understand three-dimensional attributes of physical or digital representation of the product.
- May have to transport a bucket of upwards of 30 lbs. on occasion.
- Needs to work with computers, access the Internet, and use various computer software programs.

Required Education and Experience
- At least six months’ experience
Preferred education and experience
- High School Diploma/GED Not required, but preferred
Work authorization/security clearance requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
