Estimating Support
The Estimating Support’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting the Operations and Estimating departments within Caliber, both Corporate and Field. This individual reports directly to the Project Controls Director and assists in estimating and bid preparation; productivity and inventory data collection; and warehouse and general office support. Job duties include but not limited to:
- Estimating:
- Independently estimate Change Orders and then distribute upon approval
- Participate in estimating large projects, as needed
- Download and print drawings
- Assist in drawing take off, including data entry
- Learn and ultimately utilize program ‘On Screen Take Off’
- Submit for quotes to vendors
- Assist in compiling and analyzing returned vendor quotes
- Represent the company on job/bid walks, as needed
- Document Control:
- Responsible for maintaining the log of project documents
- Create and maintain corresponding electronic files on the appropriate server –estimating and project files
- Prepare and track transmittal documents
- Intake new documents from clients and determine content to decide who should receive them and then track transmittal thereof and ensure outdated documents are recollected
- Productivity:
- Assist in obtaining daily, management-approved data regarding job productivity
- Input data
- Walk the job to verify field-reported progress and provide updates to company scheduler
- Tool inventory & Material receiving:
- Responsible for the tool inventory at the Corporate Office warehouse
- Receive materials delivered to the Corporate Office and ensure accuracy of shipment to delivery ticket to order
- Offload materials delivered, to include operating a forklift (upon training completion and certification)
- Assist with job site material management, as needed
- Assist in organizing materials and tools for local workforce
- Office support & Other:
- Transport trucks and tools for maintenance, as needed
- Attend weekly Staff and Estimating meetings
The summarized qualifications for this role are:
- Must have industry, technical-specific experience, preferably with large capital and/or medium-sized turnaround projects
- Must be able to read ISO’s and be familiar with and able to read P6 schedules
- Proficient in MS Office, with advanced skills in Excel
- Excellent organization and time management capabilities
- Able to meet deadlines and respond well to impromptu deadline shifts
- Strong communication skills, to include all levels of management, both internal and external – oral and written
- Detail-oriented with quick follow-up skills
- Able to handle confidential material appropriately
- Clean driving record is required
- College degree is preferred
- High school diploma or GED is required
