What are the responsibilities and job description for the Writer position at CALIBRATE?
We are partnering with an Am Law 200 firm with over 250 attorneys nationwide to recruit a Writer who will support firm-wide communications from the firm’s New York or Washington, D.C. office. This skilled professional will act as an editorial advisor to attorneys, firm leadership, and cross-departmental teams, crafting compelling marketing content and internal communications to elevate the firm’s brand, engage clients, and support firm-wide initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Content Development: In addition to serving as the designated editor for all communications, create client-facing content that aligns with the firm’s brand and goals, including proposals, bios, practice descriptions, blogs, award submissions, and social media.
- Internal Communications: Develop clear and professional messaging for internal communications on behalf of stakeholders including partner, human resources, recruiting, and diversity and inclusion leadership, ensuring alignment with firm culture.
- Firmwide Collaboration and Leadership: Advise attorneys and leadership on effective messaging strategies and collaborate across departments to support evolving firm-wide initiatives.
To be considered, a bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field, and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in communications, public relations, or legal marketing with significant writing and editing responsibilities are required. The ideal candidate is a resourceful self-starter with exceptional writing skills and the ability to distill complex topics into clear, engaging messaging tailored to the audience.
The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in New York, NY or Washington, D.C., if selected for the role. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees, and certifications (e.g., JD/technology), for example.
Salary Range: Low: $100,000 High: $120,000.
