Job Description
Seeking a career-minded, highly-motivated, applicant to join the Calibration Laboratory, LLC team as an Inside Sales Representative. This position will be trained to grow into an Outside Sales Representative for Calibration Laboratory, making the ability to learn one of the top qualities needed for this position.
The Inside Sales Representative will apply the skills of organization, customer service, and CRM management with a technical prowess to deliver quotes, manage customer contacts, and answer customer inquiries.
Summary of Position
This position sells calibration services to new and current customers in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, government, and medical and technical industries. The position will handle inbound and outbound sales inquiries.
An extensive, self-paced training program will be provided to establish the Inside Sales Representative role into a productive career in Metrology, Instrumentation, and Account Management. This training consists of hands-on On-The-Job training to manage accounts and find relevant information to supply quotations.
Self-study usually comes from the candidate's willingness to have the initiative to study material after hours in the efforts to assimilate the requisite information for the role. The willingness and ability to learn multiple types of equipment will be necessary to grow the Inside Sales Representative into an Outside Sales Representative.
Skills and Requirements
- Proven customer support experience or experience as a client service representative
- Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
- Experience working in a technical field and dealing with technical information
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management software.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
- Strong computer and math skills
- Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office, and Internet applications with an emphasis on Excel and Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record
- MUST Pass entrance exam (see Application Process below)
- Preference will be given to individuals with 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or other technical customer service environment.
Education
- High School Diploma required
Responsibilities
- Answers and responds to customer inquiries regarding calibration quotes
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
- Understanding of business structure in most industries to identify decision makers
- Generate calibration quotes from client lists using internal software programs
- Develop opportunities utilizing outbound calls and email campaigns. Ask probing questions to understand customer needs, provide proposal generation, and follow-up on requests
- Grow business in underdeveloped markets and identify new market opportunities
- Organized and Task oriented to complete objectives and goals in a timely manner
- Maintain and grow service/sales pipelines, reporting tools, and business activity logs
- Maintain client account information
- Maintain a working knowledge of the laboratory's current Scope of Accreditation
Reports To
The Account Representative reports directly to the Operations Director.

A full catalog is available to all staff members to encourage self-motivated course selection by staff members instead of strictly relying on course assignment. If staff members are interested in learning new skills, tasks or equipment calibrations, they are encouraged to subscribe to the course and start their training.
