Role Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Bartender to join our Fairfield Taproom team. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in beer, wine, and cocktail preparation, ensuring that every guest receives an exceptional experience. This role requires California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification, along with training and certifications for beer, wine, and spirit/cocktail preparation as required by the state.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Proactively & Drive Results
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient service to all guests.
- Educate customers about Calicraft’s beers, wine selections, and cocktail offerings.
- Engage with guests to ensure a memorable and welcoming experience.
2. Elevate the Guest Experience
- Pour and serve beer, wine, and handcrafted cocktails according to state regulations and company standards.
- Follow proper beer and wine serving techniques, including draft beer system maintenance and correct pouring methods.
- Accurately prepare cocktails using proper measuring and mixing techniques.
- Ensure all drinks are prepared according to California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) regulations.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation and hygiene practices.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, equipment, and glassware.
- Ensure compliance with RBS and ABC laws regarding responsible alcohol service.
- Check IDs and monitor guest alcohol consumption to prevent over-service.
3. Build a Positive Culture
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth operations during busy service periods.
- Assist in restocking inventory and maintaining accurate records of beverage sales.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
What We’re Looking For
- Certified & Trained – Must have completed California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification and additional training in beer, wine, and cocktail preparation as required by state law, along with Food Safety Handlers Certification.
- Passionate About Beverage Craft – Strong knowledge of beer, wine, and cocktail preparation.
- Service-Oriented – Friendly, professional, and capable of creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
- Team Player – Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-Oriented – Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients accurately, and comply with legal regulations.
- Reliable & Responsible – Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Must be 21 years or older.
