Job Overview/Summary:
Guides and manages the overall human resources and administrative operations function to suport staff. Responcibilities include creating and updating company policies, recruiting, onboarding, guiding the performance management process, employment and HR compliance, employee development, training, compensation and benefits administration. The HR manager advises leadership on employee issues, provides general benefits support and assistance, and coordinates Company culture initiatives. Administrative duties include supply ordering, calendaring, correspondance and other day to day tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as calculations and reconciliations. Ability to apply concepts such as percentages and ratios to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and understand business procedures. Ability to write reports. Ability to effectively present data and respond to questions from co-workers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees HR guidance to employees and managers with regard to career development, recruiting, performance management, training, etc.
- Coordinates and participates in salary surveys, receiving data for analysis
- Obtains approvals for payroll changes and enters updates to payroll/HRIS system
- Updates, creates and implements policies with the approval of exectives and Committees as needed
- Manages benefit enrollment and provides employee support and resources for all benefit plans
- Coordinates all onboarding and offboarding efforts including IT, benefits and vaccine programs
- Ensures HR compliance within all HR processes and systems
- Uses discretion to contact employment legal services as needed
- Developes an engaging culture by creating and distributing monthly company newsletter, coordinating monthly employee lunches, and organizing employee events
- Supports the company’s compliance with all government regulations, including but not limited to: FLSA, CFRA, ADA, COBRA, OSHA, Worker’s Compensation, and other applicable labor and/or tax laws and regulations
- Orders and restocks office and breakroom supplies as needed
- Schedules meetings
- Distributes slide deck to leadership team for meetings
- Greets and receives company guests
- Collects and distributes company deliveries and voicemail daily
- Other duties as needed
- Minimum 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience or equivalent.
- Experience at a biotech preferred; public company experience a plus.
- Strong business acumen and ability to contribute to the business strategy and operational execution
- Excellent skills: leadership, coaching, mediation, problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution
- Be a credible influencer, motivator and change agent
- Must be able to manage multiple projects as a one-person HR department.
- Strong written and oral communication skills needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or business discipline or equivalent training and experience
- SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred
