Job Summary:
CALIFORNIA AMFORGE CORP seeks an experienced Level II Penetrant Inspector to perform nondestructive testing (NDT) using liquid penetrant inspection (LPI) methods. This role requires a highly skilled and certified professional to interpret results, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and maintain high-quality standards in detecting surface discontinuities in materials and finished products.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in liquid penetrant inspection, preferably with experience in aerospace forgings/castings. Familiarity with high nickel, titanium, and/or steel alloys is also desirable. You will work closely with engineers, quality assurance personnel, and other stakeholders to address inspection findings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct liquid penetrant inspections (LPI) on metal materials, forgings, and finished product in compliance with industry standards.
- Interpret and evaluate indications to determine if they meet applicable specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Document inspection results accurately and certify product according to acceptance criteria.
- Maintain detailed records of tests and findings by following all appropriate company and customer procedures.
- Calibrate and maintain penetrant equipment including daily checks to ensure reliable operation and compliance with regulations.
Essential Qualifications:
- Certification as a Level II Penetrant Inspector in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A, NAS-410, or equivalent standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years working experience as a Level II liquid penetrant inspector, experience in aerospace forgings/castings is preferred.
