CBU School of Performing Arts: Director of Bands, Full-Time Faculty/Tenure-Track

The Collinsworth School of Performing Arts at California Baptist University invites applications for a full-time/tenure-track position of Director of Bands. Duties will include the teaching of assigned courses in band literature and pedagogy, the conducting of CBU concert bands, the active recruitment of brass, winds, and percussion for the Wind and Orchestral programs, and the continued development of the band program at CBU through professional activities, artistic collaborations, and repertoire expansion. Duties may include teaching classes in the applicant’s field of interests.

The compensation for this appointment will range from $95,000 – $110,000 annually and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this faculty appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.

Responsibilities will include teaching courses in concert and marching band performance, literature, and pedagogy and conducting the CBU concert bands. The ideal candidate will embrace collaborative engagements within the school, forge an active and consistent recruitment model for the development of the band program, and actively represent the university and its mission throughout the region and nation. The candidate will also be expected to maintain an active program of personal scholarship and service to the university and community.
