The Dr. Bonnie G. Metcalf School of Education (SOE) is accepting applications for a lecturer position in Teacher Education at California Baptist University, Riverside, California. The position will start in August 2025. Though all areas of teacher education will be considered, special attention will be given to those with expertise in a combination of multiple subject, single subject, edTPA, and/or special education.
The successful candidate joins a dedicated interdisciplinary team to strengthen and build the various Teacher Education programs at the undergraduate and graduate level. The primary duties will include teaching courses within the SOE.

Pay Range
The compensation for this appointment will range from $48,000 – $51,000 annually and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this faculty appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree, doctorate preferred
- Relevant teaching experience with K-12 students
- Evidence of expertise in Secondary Education, Elementary Education,
- Special Education, STEM Education, and/or related areas
- Ability to teach students across a wide diversity of cultures and ages
- Knowledge of edTPA
- Have knowledge of the current context of public schooling, including the California-adopted P12 content standards, frameworks, and accountability systems
- Have knowledge of diversity in society, including diverse abilities, culture, language, race, ethnicity, and gender orientation
- Demonstrate effective professional practices in teaching and learning, scholarship, and service
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree or ABD candidate
- 5 years or more teaching experience in diverse K-12 settings
- Evidence of effective and innovative teaching at the graduate and/or
- undergraduate level
Teaching responsibilities will be in undergraduate and graduate education courses. Teaching load will be across 2 semesters within the School of Education.
