What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial and Operations Associate position at California Baptist University?
Performs a variety of duties in support of Campus Store operations such as; assisting in managing the store’s financial records, preparing deposits, tracking inventory, processing requisitions, cash and account management, generating financial reports, and ensuring compliance with university accounting policies. Work closely with store leadership to maintain accurate financial data. May be required to work some evenings, weekends, and overtime.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Provides financial and accounting support to ensure accurate tracking of sales data.
- Assists in organizing and maintaining file systems.
- Communicates with departments and vendors to resolve issues, expedite payments, and respond to inquiries via telephone or in writing.
- Help to maintain the accuracy of inventory and merchandise cost and pricing records.
- Aids in managing the cash vault and balancing register drawers; reconciles cash reports, student voucher transactions, and preparing daily bank deposits.
- Assists in preparing financial reports, reconciling monthly credit card statements and managing point-of-sale system.
- Supports the processing of vendor invoices for payment; matches supporting invoices to procurement documents; verifies and tracks credit memos; and verifies accuracy and completeness of invoices for payment, including prepayments for orders.
- Assists in tracking sales of the textbook rental program, Inclusive Access, and other service-related programs.
- Aids in conducting annual and periodic inventory counts and verifications.
- Operates cash register and accepts payments of cash, credit cards, gift cards, department charges and student vouchers. Provides quality customer service.
- Overtime and other duties may be required as assigned.
This position could be responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to part-time Student Workers, in order to complete work assignments.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone. Associate degree (A.A.) in accounting, finance, or business administration; and/or two years of recent related experience in accounting and bookkeeping; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
