What are the responsibilities and job description for the Learning Specialist position at California Casualty?
The Learning Specialist delivers engaging, instructor-led training primarily for the Claims department, ensuring teams are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for success. Designs and updates dynamic learning materials, keeping content fresh, relevant, and impactful. Facilitates interactive training sessions while maintaining and supporting Knowledge Management systems to ensure seamless information flow. Combines instructional design expertise with a passion for learner engagement, transforming complex concepts into clear, compelling learning experiences.
Training Delivery and/or Knowledge Management and/or eLearning Instructional Design:
- Delivers training primarily for the Claims function and may also include Sales, Customer Service, and/or Underwriting via ILT for new and existing employees. Prepares materials, sets up classroom, creates lesson plans and activities. Solicits feedback from incumbents and management to determine training effectiveness. Provides coaching and support for new hires and existing employees following training and by manager request
- Reviews, maintains, and updates online Knowledge Management documentation. Organizes, categorizes, catalogs and archives documentation as required. Verifies/validates new and existing production content and functionality through user testing and content approval process. Ensures consistency of design across multiple departments. Reviews content and applies knowledge of company procedures to ensure accuracy and eliminate/reduce redundancy. Encourages the use of the system functionality by educating users and client groups. Collaborates with departments on the structure of the documents. Creates and/or edits knowledge management system user documentation using an XML editor. Updates system with new and modified documents
- Designs eLearning courses for various functions as needed. Collaborates with internal customers to ensure training materials are up to date
Training Design & Development: Ensures training materials are up to date. Applies various design skills to modify and update job aides, learner/instructor guides, and PowerPoint presentations as needed
Other duties as required: Job may require fulfilling other incidental or related duties as assigned, assisting and training others, and performing duties of higher rated positions from time to time for developmental purposes
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: BA/BS Business or Education
- Experience Required
- 1 Years of Training Experience
- Some Experience with Training Design or CCMC Specific Functional Experience
- 1 Years Experience Adjusting Property and Casualty Claims
Experience Preferred
- Some Experience Utilizing Knowledge Management Systems
This position can be hired as a level I or II depending on experience
The pay range for this position is $51,189 - $75,102 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience. The company also offers a full range of medical, financial and other benefits, including eligibility for the company’s performance sharing plan and paid time off such as holidays, vacation, sick and personal holidays.
