CCA’s Pre-College Program is a four-week summer program for high school students located on the college’s San Francisco campus. Approximately 100 students attend each summer. The Pre-College Program Assistant is responsible for supporting all aspects of the program, including, but not limited to, student and faculty support, day-to-operations, and program coordination in collaboration with the Youth Programs and Studio Operations teams. It is a varied job, in that you will be required to complete a vast number of tasks and errands that include anything from making fliers to accompanying students to the pharmacy should they need medicine. This position is fully in-person, on campus Monday through Friday, for the duration of the program.

Minors attend this program. The program follows CANRA, the law on reporting to child protective authorities if there is any information received about possible abuse of children of the program wherever and by whomever the possible abuse may be occurring. Program administrators are trained in CANRA, and other personnel of the program are required to immediately inform an administrator if any such information is received.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Administration & Support - 100%

  • Serve as a support for Youth Programs staff and instructors as well as Pre-College students throughout the day-to-day operations of the program.

  • Student Support: Act as a support liaison across campus partners including access & disability services, student conduct, and Residential Education as needed. 

  • Programs and Events: Assist in the coordination of program-wide events, including first-day orientation, interdisciplinary workshops, San Francisco field trip for all students, final open studios, exhibition, and celebration ceremony. This includes planning and communicating with students and instructors throughout the field trips, workshops, and events cycle.

  • Office Support: Assist the Youth Programs team with general office support as needed, which includes managing attendance, communicating with parents/guardians via email and phone, answering general program questions, organizing digital files and physical materials.

  • Being aware of campus and program policies as well as student codes of conduct. 

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.

  • 2 years of professional or student leadership experience in higher education, or experience working with secondary education students in camps or other summer programs serving minors.

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency using Google Apps for Education, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Proven success establishing and maintaining positive and cooperative working relationships; commitment to quality of service.

  • Strong work ethic; ability to work independently and proactively.

  • Ability to work in a culturally-competent manner with diverse groups, including international students.

  • Must demonstrate competence, reliability, and honesty.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a discipline offered by CCA.

  • California State License and access to a vehicle.

  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the needs and issues of students in the arts/design/architecture fields, particularly high school students aged 15-18 who are experiencing a residential program, college campus, or traveling from home for the first time.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • The compensation for this temporary position is $27/hourly.

POSITION DETAILS:

  • Temporary position begins as early as July 1, 2025 and ends by August 8, 2025.

  • CCA considers a full-time work week to be 37.5 hours per week. 

  • The final schedule will be determined based on operational needs.
