Brief Summary:
The Accountant position is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day General Ledger and Cost activities of the organization, working with the CFO to ensure accurate financial records. This position will ideally be a utility player that will work cross-functionally with other departments and their teammates within the accounting and finance function to efficiently process information and ensure timely reporting.

General
- Team and individual contributor for day-to-day, monthly, quarterly, and year-end operations of the General Ledger, Cost, and FP&A activities
- Key participant in budget and monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to comply with the close calendar, checklists, and other due dates as assigned
- Performs the processing of monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, revenue recognition, fixed asset depreciation, ESOP funding, and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries
- Performs daily bank account reconciliations
- Performs general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals, leases, and prepaid expenses.
- Performs cost accounting projects and reporting related to construction projects
- Assists in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements, budget performance, project performance, variance analysis, and other FP&A related duties as assigned
- Research general ledger accounts
- Prepares reports and documentation in support of internal and external audits
- Back-up for the A/R & A/P Specialist role as needed
- Audit of Expense reports and credit card statements and processing to the general ledger
- Support of Accounting system implementations and maintenance
- Aids in daily cash management reporting and tracking
- Prepares monthly accruals and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries
- Support of internal and external customer inquiries
- Compile statistical and financial accounting reports and tables
- Perform filing and general administrative tasks within the department
- Assist in the formulation, analysis, and execution of new CalCom Energy accounting procedures and processes
- Preparation and reporting of sales taxes and returns and compliance
- Assist in the annual audit, insurance renewals and tax preparation as required
- Enter new projects and budgets into ERP to include customer details, cost and revenue budgets, and milestones per CalCom processes
- Complete all credit applications and re-sale certificates for vendor set up
- Assistance in calculation of commissions
- Serve as ERP subject matter expert and aid in training of other departments in use of the system
- Collaborate on weekly cash flow reviews and team updates as necessary
- Assist in the formulation, analysis, and execution of new CalCom Energy accounting procedures and processes
- Assist with special projects and ad-hoc reporting as needed
- Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by the CFO
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Required:
- BS/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting roles in high-growth companies or work experience in a Staff Accountant capacity
- ERP Accounting system experience required
- Extremely strong MS Office skills – MUST be intermediate to advance in MS Excel
- Solid understanding of GAAP accounting and reporting requirements (606 and 842 included)
- Solid understanding of accounting processes (A/R, A/P, and General Ledger)
- Excellent written/oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as with a team, to prioritize tasks
- Strong organizational attention to detail skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines accurately and consistently in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment

Work Environment:
Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation. Travel as needed.
Salary : $66,560 - $75,000
