Description
The Electrical Journeyman is positive, supportive, self-starter who is responsible for installation of electrical work of solar projects, interconnection of solar projects, and mentoring electrical trainees on the job.
Essential Functions:

- Read design drawings, review submittals, and plan work accordingly.
- Install conduit, pull wire, and make terminations.
- Assist in training all Electrical Trainees and crew.
- Install, maintain, modify and repair all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment at 480v and 12kv.
- Install electrical equipment, including transformers, switch boards, panel boards, and disconnects.
- Perform take-offs and provide material requisitions.
- Survey electrical systems, circuits and plans.
- Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
Secondary Functions:
Help foreman as needed to complete, the following:
- Request for Information (RFI)
- Daily reports
- Subcontractor supervision
- Material/equipment requisitions
- Constructability analysis
- Due diligence on existing equipment
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Required:
- Certified California Electrical Journeyman
- 3 years experience in general construction
- Current driver license
- Able to perform tasks like moving/lifting heavy objects and digging trenches for laying conduit
- Able to work on AC and DC
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in general construction
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Understand and remain in compliance with current National Electric Code
- Understand required tooling and equipment usage for needed work
- Excellent critical thinking and decision making abilities
- Able to determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
- Proficient in verbal communication in English
Preferred:
- 3 years solar experience
Supervisory Responsibility:
Electrical Trainees (1-8)
Qualifications

- 3 years experience in general construction
- 2 years solar experience
- Current driver license
- Able to perform tasks like moving/lifting heavy objects and digging trenches for laying conduit
- Able to work on AC and DC
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in general construction
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Understand and remain in compliance with current National Electric Code
- Understand required tooling and equipment usage for needed work
- Excellent critical thinking and decision making abilities

Salary : $40 - $46
