Journeyman Electrician

Essential Functions:

1. Read design drawings, review submittals, and plan work accordingly.
2. Install conduit, pull wire, and make terminations.
3. Assist in training all Electrical Trainees and crew.
4. Install, maintain, modify and repair all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment at 480v and 12kv.
5. Install electrical equipment, including transformers, switch boards, panel boards, and disconnects.
6. Perform take-offs and provide material requisitions.
7. Survey electrical systems, circuits and plans.
8. Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
9. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
10. Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.

Secondary Functions:

Help foreman as needed to complete, the following:

1. Request for Information (RFI)
2. Daily reports
3. Subcontractor supervision
4. Material/equipment requisitions
5. Constructability analysis
6. Due diligence on existing equipment

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Required:

1. Certified California Electrical Journeyman
2. 3 years experience in general construction
3. Current driver license
4. Able to perform tasks like moving/lifting heavy objects and digging trenches for laying conduit
5. Able to work on AC and DC
6. Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in general construction
7. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
8. Understand and remain in compliance with current National Electric Code
9. Understand required tooling and equipment usage for needed work
10. Excellent critical thinking and decision making abilities
11. Able to determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
12. Proficient in verbal communication in English

Preferred:

1. 3 years solar experience

Supervisory Responsibility:

Electrical Trainees (1-8)

Qualifications

Salary : $40 - $46
