General Summary
The Business Analyst collaborates with business leaders, Information Technology (IT) teams, and vendors to enhance applications, streamline operations, and drive process improvements. This role plays a vital part in improving internal and external member service quality by understanding business operations, conducting workflow reviews, and identifying enhancement opportunities. The Business Analyst serves as a liaison between IT, business units, and vendors during software deployments to ensure smooth implementation. By strategically reviewing workflows and processes, the Business Analyst ensures effective and efficient operations throughout the credit union.
Principal Accountabilities (90%)
- Works with business unit leaders to elicit high-level requirements and capture business needs.
- Clearly articulates and documents business requirements.
- Assesses the risks of various solutions and prioritizes competing business demands.
- Manages ongoing relationship with business partners to drive satisfaction with IT.
- Coordinates project delivery by participating in design reviews and walk-throughs to communicate systems designs and validate proposed solutions.
- Translates requirements into a Request for Proposal (RFP) and leads search effort for software, ensuring business requirements are met.
- Acts as Project Manager for small and mid-sized projects.
- Completes research, trouble-shoots and resolves issues relating to software implementation, set up, testing, training, and post implementation support.
- Conducts workflow analysis from end to end within and across business units to ensure effective and efficient operations throughout the credit union.
- Provides support to all credit union applications.
- Plans and leads the testing and validation process for enhancements, releases, hot fixes, upgrades, and implementations.
- Conducts meetings and prepares presentations related to projects and applications that share information and gather feedback from end users.
- Gathers application requirements from business unit owners to ensure alignment of application performance and business goals. Administers and maintains programs and processes for business units.
- Documents and works with IT staff to set up reporting and alerting requirements to meet regulatory guidelines.
- Documents procedures and operational methods for software developed and/or enhanced; provides input to assist with instructing use of updated and/or new software.
- Helps design, document and maintain system processes.
- Communicates effectively to update outside vendors, internal staff and/or executive staff.
- Serves as the subject-matter-expert for assigned areas of responsibility.
Secondary Accountabilities (10%)
- Participates in special projects to include testing, analysis and integration of internal systems and applications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with Regulatory guidelines as commensurate with position.

Knowledge, Education, Certifications, Licenses:
Must have strong analytical skills, problem solving abilities, business rules for financial institutions relating to compliance or equivalent, products and services, and conceptual knowledge of database programming. Basic understanding of information technology and business concepts.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a related environment, preferably in a financial institution.
