General Summary
Under general supervision, assist in the completion of a completed mortgage loan application and support credit documentation gathering. Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant (MLOA) must utilize lending knowledge to ensure a prominent level of member service and satisfaction. In accordance with Processing, Underwriting, and Funding this position will be responsible for helping VP, MLO, and members with the entire loan process. The primary objective of this position is to assist applicant(s) by providing exceptional service for purchase and refinance originations. Communicate in person, via e-mail, with processing, underwriting, and funding groups on individual loans.
Principal Accountabilities (75%)
- Inputs loan information into LOS (Loan Origination System) and FNMA D/U
- Maintains communication with MLO, Applicants, Mortgage Loan Processors, and operational staff regarding the status of loans
- Ensure mortgage applications are complete and accurate
- Provide exceptional service to applicants and internal customers
- Completes the mortgage application:
- Verify membership for all borrowers on loan applications by accessing DNA
- Verify completion of employment section in LOS
- Verify completion of income section of the mortgage application
- Review and/or update Financing Information
- Review input housing expense
- Review assets section of the application
- Review Real Estate Owned section of the application
- Review the credit report within the application
- Review completeness of the declarations and government monitoring section of the application
- Assist in the initial disclosure process as needed
Secondary Accountabilities (25%)
- Contributes to operational projects and improvements
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Review a mortgage application and documentation in its entirety with a hyper-attention to detail
- Must be able to communicate effectively with internal customers and colleagues
- Able to work in a fast-paced, rapid environment while maintaining a positive attitude and enthusiastic spirit
- Assists SVP, Mortgage Lending, and department management as needed
Position Requirement and Qualifications
Abilities:
- Must be available to work Saturdays, as needed
- Excellent communication and customer service skills and a cheerful outlook
- Excellent attention to detail and organization
- Computer proficiency in PC applications, loan origination/automated underwriting systems.
- Ability to communicate instructions or ideas clearly and accurately to co-workers in an appropriate manner
- Ability to comprehend normal business conversations
Knowledge, Education, Certifications, Licenses:
NMLS
High School Diploma required
Experience:
Two (2) years of loan experience with a lending institution.
