Correctional Officers are part of a diverse professional family, with a commitment to facilitate the successful reintegration of the individuals in our care back to their communities equipped with the tools to be drug-free, healthy, and employable members of society by providing education, treatment, rehabilitative, and restorative justice programs, all in a safe and humane environment. Correctional Officers are an entry level peace officer position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· At least 20 years old at the time of application and 21 YEARS of age at the time of appointment to the academy.
· Graduation from a US high school, GED or equivalent from a US accredited institution, or a California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE) certificate is required, or possession of a college degree (Associate of Arts or higher) from an accredited U.S. college or university.
· Be a citizen of the US or legal permanent resident.
· No felony convictions and eligible to own/possess a firearm.

A thorough background investigation must be conducted prior to a candidate’s appointment as a Correctional Officer.

SCHEDULE
As a CO, you will work multiple different shifts. Our institutions operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
