Job Description And Duties

The Research Data Analyst II (RDA II) is responsible for data driven analytical and administrative assignments in the Human Resources Branch (HRB). The RDA II performs proficient analytical, critical thinking, communication and writing skills, as well as experience with data applications and management, and collaboration with stakeholder individuals and organizations. Responsible for advanced technical research functions related to the Department of Developmental Services (Department) programs, including point-in-time and trend analysis of workforce data. The RDA II works closely with team members in HRB, other Department staff and external shareholders to perform these functions. The RDA II must have a strong understanding of research and statistical methods and be familiar with general principles, concepts and terminology commonly used in research. and take the initiative to suggest improvements and enhancements to HRB systems and work products.

Working Conditions

This position is eligible to participate in the Department’s hybrid telework schedule. Participation in telework is subject to Department guidelines.

Maintain consistent and regular attendance; develop and maintain knowledge and skills related to specific tasks, methodologies, materials, tools and equipment; complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner; and adhere to departmental policies and procedures. Work is performed in an open-spaced, partitioned office. Responds to multiple assignments with conflicting priorities and tight timelines. Sedentary position requires use of a computer, compiling and analyzing data.

Department Information

The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is the agency through which the State of California provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities.

These disabilities include intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and related conditions. Services are provided through state-operated developmental centers and community facilities, and contracts with 21 nonprofit regional centers. The regional centers serve as a local resource to help find and access the services and supports available to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

The DDS Is Located In a Modern, Sustainable And Innovative Office Building At 1215 “O” Street, Sacramento, California. Some Amenities Of The Building Include:

Special Requirements

The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be typed in 12-point Arial font, single spaced, and be no more than two pages in length. Applicants who fail to answer the question below or submit an SOQ may not be considered.

  • Describe your experience working with large amounts of data, data visualization, and presenting data.
