Minimum Qualifications & Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- AA Degree or 48 Semester Units or meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through an assessment, the knowledge and ability to assist in instruction - (CODESP Exam).
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, staff, and the public.
- Knowledge of basic instructional methods and techniques.
- Ability to interpret and follow rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Develops and prepares instructional materials, and implements activities for enrichment, physical education and homework assistance.
- Prepares and maintains student work areas, and creates a safe learning environment.
- Establishes cooperative and effective working relationships with children and adults.
- Observes and controls behavior of students according to approved procedures; reports progress regarding student performance and behavior to site leader and/or administrator.
- Assures the health and safety of students by following established practices and procedures; maintains learning environment in a safe, orderly, and clean manner.
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
- Participates in staff development activities and staff meetings.
- Cross trains with site leader position in order to provide continuance services to students in the event of staff absences or emergencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee.
