Perform community outreach and services including parent training and information and well-child services. 2. Administer first aid and emergency care to ill or injured students and staff. 3. Provides the following medical procedures including, but not limited to catheterization, NG tube feeding, changing tracheotomy tubes and ties, machine suctioning, colostomy / ileostomy, gastrostomy feeding, mechanical ventilation, nasal cannula, oxygen supplementation and syringe suctioning. 4. Performs necessary procedures for diabetic students. 5. Coordinate and assist with programs for the control of communicable disease. 6. Monitor and maintain records concerning student immunizations and required physical exams and other health care requirements for all students. 7. Assists School Nurse with performing vision and hearing screenings and make follow-up notifications and referrals for additional care as appropriate. 8. Conduct home visits and telephone contacts to obtain health data or other pertinent information. 9. Provide health care counseling to parents and school personnel when appropriate. 10. Transport injured or ill children or those having nuisance diseases from school to home. 11. Provides CPR training. 12. Assist with the preparation of a variety of records and reports. 13. Administer medications as ordered by a physician. 14. Report significant findings to the District's Registered Nurse (RN). 15. Maintains positive interpersonal relations with staff, families, and children. 16. Attends meetings as needed for the purpose of conveying and / or gathering information required to perform functions. 17. Travels as needed to various sites throughout the District. 18. Performs other related job duties as assigned.Job Requirements / Qualifications Education : High School Diploma or the equivalent Experience : Two (2) years of experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and / or Testing : California LVN License CPR Card TB Test Clearance Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance Valid California Driver's license Bilingual -English / Spanish All District employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
