- Participates in serving of food;
- assists in the preparation of foods;
- assists in maintaining the food service facility in a safe, clean, and sanitary condition;
- prepares food items which may include scratch cooking;
- preparation, and clean up of salad bar and other serving areas;
- may restock food and supplies as needed;
- assists in maintaining daily site usage records, reference menu production worksheets;
- washes and stores utensils, containers, and trays;
- follows oral and written instructions;
- performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of
- methods and procedures for preparing and serving food in large quantities;
- standard food service terminology, appliances, and equipment;
- sanitation and safety practices and procedures;
- basic arithmetical calculations and measurement processes.

- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by training in food preparation, safety, sanitation, or other job-related areas.
- Valid Food Handlers Card issued for Riverside County.
- Heavy work, i.e. pushing, and/or pulling up to approximately 50 pounds;
- the job may call for lifting and/or carrying up to 50 pounds with assistance;
- with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds;
- work requires standing and walking for prolonged periods.
