This opportunity is open to all interested candidates. You will be directed to an off-site application once you select CLICK HERE TO APPLY OFFSITE. This is a continuous recruitment which will be used to establish an ongoing eligibility list for current and future hiring purposes. Additionally, successful candidates will be offered the opportunity to substitute in this classification. Please note: PIF positions work 35 hours per week, 10 months per year. Positions 20 hours per week or more qualify for District Paid health and wellness benefits for employees and eligible dependents. The starting hourly rate is $22.41 per hour. You must be available to work Monday-Friday in person. The shift time is offered within the school bell schedule. Candidates wishing to substitute ONLY You will receive information about substituting after you apply and qualify for the position.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma/GED and a passing score on the San Diego Unified School District Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE) or Associate's degree (or higher) or 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university. Completion of post high school courses in Psychology, Early Childhood Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, or related field is desirable. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid California driver's license. Attend district required training and maintain certification. FOREIGN EQUIVALENCY CERTIFICATION: Individuals who have completed high school or college-level coursework at an institution in a country other than the United States must provide a Foreign Equivalency Certification to satisfy the education requirement. A Foreign Equivalency Certification can be obtained for a fee from a professional organization that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
