About this Role:
The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), Office of Legal Services (OLS), Program Integrity and Compliance Branch (PICB) is seeking a permanent, full time Senior Legal Analyst (SLA) to join the team. Senior Legal Analyst positions are crucial in reaching our mission of providing Californians with access to affordable, integrated, high-quality health care, including medical, dental, mental health, substance use treatment services and long term care. Help us actualize our vision to preserve and improve the overall health and well being of all Californians.
The Senior Legal Analyst is the journey level analytical paralegal classification. Under the supervision of the Attorney, Assistance Chief Counsel (Attorney, ACC) and with direction from attorney(s) responsible for cases and tasks assigned, the incumbent acts independently to provide paralegal and legal support to attorneys in difficult and complex areas of law and performs other duties related to litigation support and house counsel assignments.
The successful candidate will perform a wide variety of paralegal duties, including: independently identifying legal issues; conducting factual and analytical research; collecting, reviewing, and analyzing documentary evidence and discovery in electronic databases and in hard copy form; preparing discovery and document productions; assisting attorneys with evidentiary support and findings; working with attorneys and witnesses in preparation for hearing; providing support to attorneys during hearing; and updating and maintaining boilerplate documents; calculating and calendaring litigation due dates and deadlines using electronic case tracking software, and performing other administrative tasks.

Telework Information
The DHCS standard for hybrid work is a minimum of two days per week inperson and site-based and up to three teleworking days per week.
