Job Description And Duties
Under general supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor II, the Information Technology Associate (ITA) is a member of the Software Engineering Team and is responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for existing applications, participating in software development projects, creating and maintaining automated jobs, monitoring and fixing development infrastructures, and conducting technical research to improve the Department's digital services. The incumbent will apply software engineering techniques and best practices, coordinate with stakeholders, and assist in training end-users.
Confidentiality must be always maintained. Some travel may be required by train, plane, or automobile to attend meetings and training.
All DIR employees are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner that demonstrates respect for all employees and others they come in contact with during work hours, during workplace activities, and anytime they represent the Department. Working Conditions

The incumbent will be assigned a space located on the 4th floor of the Elihu Harris State Building located in Oakland; operates from a tall, air-conditioned office building that has both natural and artificial lighting. They typically work in a space adjacent to other employees, which could be either an individual office or a cubicle. Being in a stationary position for long periods of time. The job involves substantial computer work, including software development, document creation, research, email correspondence, and other related tasks. DIR mandates that all staff members physically report to the office at least twice every week. Furthermore, all workers must consent to and adhere to the Department's Telework Policies if they wish to work remotely.
Special Requirements
