Job Description And Duties

Under the direction of the Supervising Insurance Rate Analyst, the Senior Insurance Analyst leads a team of rate analysts in the research and development of the proper rate component determination (RCD) factors for rate filing reviews. The incumbents act as a technical expert and monitors the profitability and solvency of insurers, and technological advances that impact the insurance industry. Designs and maintains webpages with reports, and various programs and templates that help analysts perform their jobs efficiently. Occasional travel may be required within and/or outside the state of California via private or public transportation (i.e., automobile, airplane, etc.). Travel may include overnight stay.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.
