We are currently hiring for an Associate Health Physicist position within the California Department of Public Health's Division of Radiation Safety and Environmental Management. As a successful candidate, you will apply your expertise in radiation protection to ensure the safe use of radioactive materials.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and review complex information notices, policies, procedures, and regulations related to radioactive materials.
- Work on sensitive and complex projects involving rules and notices about handling radioactive materials.
- Ensure compliance with California laws, federal guidelines, and departmental policies.
Certification by the American Board of Health Physics or by the American Board of Medical Physics in Medical Health Physics or 4 years of professional operational health physics experience is required. Previous experience with on-site facility inspections for radiation assessments and measurements is also necessary.
