Job Description And Duties
Conducts maintenance, inspection, and repair of standard plumbing equipment concerned with water, gas, oil, sewage, fire control, steam and refrigeration systems.
Directs, inspects and assists Plumbers and other staff assigned in the maintenance and repair of the plumbing systems throughout the facility. Maintains an active preventive maintenance program on the various systems in his/her area of responsibility; estimates project and job costs; requisitions and orders tools, materials, equipment and supplies. Makes sure that projects are completed according to plans and specifications; sees that health and safety regulations are complied with; keeps records and makes reports; maintains a valid work order system; does other work as required and conforms to all Administrative Directives (A.D.’s).
This positions work assignment is Saturday - Wednesday. The candidate selected will be required to work weekends as a part of their regular scheduled work week.
Department Information
DSH-Coalinga opened in 2005 and began treating forensically committed patients, mostly of which are sexually violent predators. It is a self-contained psychiatric hospital constructed with a security perimeter. California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) provides perimeter security as well as transportation of patients to outside medical services and court proceedings.
