Job Description And Duties

Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department, is accepting applications for at least one (1) Permanent, Full-time appointment to the Public Health Nurse I classification in Medical Services.

Major Tasks, Duties, And Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Public Health Officer, performs public health nursing services and participates in infection control program in a forensic mental health state hospital; actively participates in the surveillance, prevention, and control of infections and communicable diseases; assists in epidemiological investigations; keeps records, analyzes data, prepares reports, and disseminates information to other departments. Applicant must be a motivated self-initiator capable of filing, scheduling, meeting deadlines and effectively communicating with others.

Possession of a valid RN license and a Public Health Certificate in the State of California are required. The position(s) require(s) a Drug Screening be passed prior to being hired.
