Job Purpose: The behavioral health technician position is responsible for direct client care and reporting back to the Operations Director any relevant information.


A. Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Follows and enforces the company's policies, procedures and protocols
  2. Completes client intakes in EMR upon admission.
  3. Types and performs data entry as needed for communication purposes
  4. Organizes and uploads documents to client files (if applicable)
  5. Conforms to all necessary quality assurance standards
  6. Greets scheduled visitors and coordinates to appropriate area or person
  7. Follows up with facility rules and expectations, and helps clients comply with contracts
  8. Drug tests clients effectively according to waived testing procedures
  9. Conducts rounds per company policy
  10. Organizes cleaning supplies and materials
  11. Makes copies of printed materials
  12. Conduct med pass with clients
  13. "Observes and Reports" for overall client care
  14. Performs all necessary documentation regarding clients
  15. Communicates effectively with supervisor regarding completion of job duties and responsibilities

B. Expectations

  • Attendance and punctuality: Is prompt and on time for work, assignments and meetings. Notifies supervisor prior to lateness or absence. Understands that excess absences pose a hardship on other employees.
  • Job skills and knowledge: Completes all chart related documents and correspondence for assigned clients in a timely manner.
  • Quantity and quality of work: Cares about the quality and accuracy of work being produced. Accepts responsibility for completing job tasks. Uses time productively and efficiently.
  • Attitude: Demonstrates a cooperative, positive and enthusiastic attitude toward fellow employees, clients and visitors. Maintains a positive attitude in carrying out assignments and is helpful and courteous to fellow employees.
  • Confidentiality: Knows and follows confidentiality law and procedures at all times.
  • Communications skills: Is effective in written and oral expression. Demonstrates proper telephone etiquette and is able to communicate easily with clients, staff and visitors in an appropriate manner. Relates to clients and co-workers in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Conduct: Conducts oneself in a manner consistent with the agency's code of ethics and code of conduct. Shows professionalism in an office setting.
  • Flexibility: Responds well to changing situations or routines
  • Handling emergencies: Handles crises calmly and professionally

C. Competencies

  8. Individual drug tests clients effectively according to waived testing procedures
  9. Individual can organize cleaning supplies and materials
  10. Individual can make copies of printed materials
  11. Individual proficiently conducts med pass with clients
  12. Individual can "Observe and Report" for overall client care
  13. Individual is able to perform all necessary documentation regarding clients
  14. Individual effectively communicates with supervisor regarding completion of job duties and responsibilities

D. Minimum Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Licensure

  • Is certified as a drug and alcohol counselor or registered as a recovery worker, or in school for the same
  • Has a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Is CPR and First Aid certified

Knowledge

  • An understanding of counseling and other treatment procedures for alcoholism and drug addiction related problems
  • A knowledge of regulations concerning alcoholism and drug addiction treatment
  • Working knowledge of alcoholism and drug addiction and treatment procedures for such illness

E. Work Environment

  • Noise level: usually quiet
  • Physical demands: Employee is frequently required to sit and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

F. Health Requirements

  • TB test within 1 year prior to or 7 days after employment and annually thereafter
  • Health screening upon hire

Salary : $19 - $21
