We are seeking to fill immediate full-time positions for EXPERIENCED Drywall Foreman. GENERAL SUMMARY
The Foreman’s position involves administrative, supervisory, and operational responsibilities in managing day-to-day operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement activities for the drywall division. This position is considered a working Foreman and is expected to direct and assist the employees in their daily tasks and activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Overall responsibility for crew safety, performance, productivity, and work quality for assigned projects.
- Collaborate with Superintendent and Project Manager to coordinate project startup, execution, and close out.
- Review and understand the project budget, contract documents, plans, and building codes governing the work.
- Use project schedule, look‐ahead schedules, manpower forecasts, and project specifications to provide optimum scheduling of material, manpower, crew mix, and resources.
- Ensure the proper coordination of work and complete work safely within the budget and schedule.
- Responsible for implementation, enforcement of, and compliance with all aspects of the California Drywall Health and Safety program, including the IIPP and Code of Safe Work Practices, as well as any other specific programs, policies, and procedures deemed necessary for the health and safety of employees working at construction project sites.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of job sites to maintain compliance with the company’s IIPP, Code of Safe Work Practices, Cal / OSHA, and other regulatory safety requirements.
- Manage and assign crews’ activities to achieve maximized productivity while maintaining California Drywall standards of quality, performance, and workplace safety.
- Inspect and manage quality assurance / quality control of the work performed by crews.
- Identify, communicate, and help to resolve production delays, changes, deficiencies, or other problems as they arise with Superintendent.
- Hold regular safety meetings on-site in accordance with company policies.
- Provide an accounting of time spent on tasks in accordance with company accounting policy.
- Prepare, review, distribute, and maintain all required documentation and reports, i.e., daily, and weekly progress of work, changes in work that differ from the contract documents, etc.
- Adhere to all California Drywall, Federal, State, and Local regulations, policies, and procedures as well as contract codes.
- Report all accidents, injuries, and near misses to Safety Department and Superintendent.
- Use available technology to perform job tasks efficiently.
- Ensure the proper safety equipment, materials and tools are onsite to perform required work.
- Responsible for all day-to-day maintenance on all vehicles / equipment / tools issued to the crew and communicating the need for routine maintenance and repairs.
- Manage in a professional manner, be a role model for crew members, and challenge and motivate all crews to achieve excellence.
- Monitor attendance and review time entries, and report into the time reporting system.
- Assist with hiring; handle employee relations matters; complete performance evaluations, etc.
- Conduct all business in a professional, positive, and ethical manner with all trades, clients, contractors, vendors, and co-workers to maximize the effectiveness, efficiency, and profit of the company.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
