Job Description and Duties:
Under the general direction of the Deputy Executive Director in the Executive Office, the Research Data Specialist II (RDS II) serves as a prime resource and subject matter expert on economics to develop macroeconomic models, prepare fiscal and economic impact analyses of proposed regulations, and advise the development of the most complex policy initiatives and rulemaking projects to support the overall economic analysis needs of the CEC. The RDS II ensures that economic impact analyses for all of CEC’s proposed regulations meet statutory requirements set forth in the Administrative Procedures Act (APA) and performs technical economic analyses that are included in each Standardized Regulatory Impact Assessment (SRIA). The incumbent provides economic expertise to advise research and analysis by CEC divisions and ensures economic operational needs for special projects are satisfied
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience drafting or preparing Standardized Regulatory Impact Assessments (SRIAs) for proposed regulations.
- Experience creating macroeconomic models using RIMS II, IMPLAN, REMI, and AVERT
- Experience identifying, collecting, storing, and manipulating data and economic forecasts related to energy demand, technology, transportation, or other economic indicators.
- Experience with accounting or conducting financial analysis on businesses.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Five years of progressively responsible quantitative and qualitative data research experience engaged in the collection, compilation, manipulation, analysis, and interpretation of data.
