Job Title: Enhanced Behavior Support Homes Assistant Administrator

Position Summary
The Enhanced Behavior Support Homes (EBSH) Assistant Administrator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and services to individuals with developmental disabilities and complex behavioral needs. This role requires leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to enhance the quality of life for residents, maintain regulatory compliance, and promote a safe and supportive environment. The EBSH Administrator plays a key role in fostering positive relationships with staff, families, external service providers, and regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership and Management
- Lead and manage the overall operation of the Enhanced Behavior Support Home(s), ensuring compliance with relevant state and federal regulations, licensing requirements, and organizational policies.
- Supervise and manage a multidisciplinary team of direct support staff, behavioral analysts, case managers, and other relevant professionals.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective facility operation, resident care, and safety.
- Oversee staffing schedules, recruitment, retention, and staff development to ensure adequate staffing levels and high-quality care.
- Ensure the facility operates within budgetary guidelines, including managing operational expenses and maximizing cost-effective practices.
- Conduct regular audits of the facility and services provided, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
2. Quality of Care and Client Outcomes
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized behavior support plans (BSPs) for each resident, working closely with behavior analysts and other clinical professionals.
- Ensure that interventions and services are designed to improve residents’ quality of life, with a focus on promoting positive behavior change, skill acquisition, and independence.
- Foster a person-centered approach to care, ensuring that each resident’s preferences, goals, and needs are prioritized.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behavior support plans, adjusting strategies and interventions as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Support and guide staff in implementing trauma-informed care and managing challenging behaviors in a safe, therapeutic manner.
3. Regulatory Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure the Enhanced Behavior Support Home is in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including licensing, accreditation standards, and funding requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including resident records, incident reports, staff training records, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory bodies, funding agencies, and other stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits, taking corrective action when needed to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and staff.
4. Staff Training, Development, and Supervision
- Hire, train, and supervise all staff members, ensuring they are knowledgeable about the unique needs of the residents and equipped with the tools necessary to provide high-quality care.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training program, including orientation for new staff and ongoing professional development.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and performance evaluations to staff, offering guidance, mentorship, and corrective action as necessary.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented environment that promotes collaboration, open communication, and professional growth.
5. Family and Community Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with residents’ families, guardians, and other support systems to ensure ongoing communication, involvement, and advocacy.
- Serve as a liaison between the facility and external service providers, including medical professionals, behavioral health specialists, and community organizations.
- Promote awareness of the Enhanced Behavior Support Home program within the community, advocating for the needs of residents and the facility.
6. Crisis Management and Risk Mitigation
- Develop and implement crisis intervention strategies to ensure the safety of residents and staff during critical incidents.
- Ensure that staff are trained in de-escalation techniques, emergency protocols, and other safety procedures.
- Monitor incidents, accidents, and other safety concerns, investigating root causes and making recommendations to prevent recurrence.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working in the behavioral health or developmental disabilities field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or administrative role.
- Experience in managing programs for individuals with complex behavioral needs, particularly in residential settings, is preferred.
- Certification or licensure in a relevant field (e.g., LCSW, BCBA, or equivalent) preferred.

- Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations, including those governing behavioral health services, developmental disabilities, and residential care.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and policy requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including staff, residents, families, and external agencies.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to manage crises and make decisions under pressure.

- Proficiency in using computer systems and software for documentation, reporting, and administrative tasks.
