Job Description And Duties
Under the general direction of an Administrator I in the Information Validation Section (IVS), the Tax Program Supervisor (TPS) plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs the work of varied and extensive processing and services units engaged in both clerical and technical activities. The incumbent develops, motivates, mentors, and coaches the team in providing high quality training and procedures for section staff to process state income tax returns timely and accurately. This includes approving and reviewing work or procedures and recommending potential changes to policy and operating procedures. The incumbent represents the section and bureau on departmental groups and teams, and projects related to the implementation of new training and procedures. The incumbent assists with defining budgetary needs and resources for the section and the development of the unit/section performance standards. The incumbent works with the Enterprise Training and Procedures team and other staff throughout the department.

- Ability to establish priorities and allocate resources to maintain a consistent workflow to assist with eliminating backlogs wherever possible
- Experience with reviewing and monitoring the work and activities of others, to ensure appropriateness, accuracy, and consistency with procedures, directives, and policies
- Ability to effectively communicate directives and expectations in writing and verbally
- Working knowledge of Franchise Tax Board enterprise and Return Analysis systems including Taxpayer Information (TI), Case Management (CM), Taxpayer Folder (TPF), Lexis Nexis, E-Gateway, Accounts Receivable Collection System (ARCS), Withhold at Source System(WASS)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to inspire, motivate, mentor, and build teams
- Team player
