The California Cybersecurity Integration Center (Cal-CSIC) is at the forefront of this effort, serving as the hub of state government's cybersecurity operations. As an IT Manager II, within the Cal-CSIC, you will play a crucial role in achieving this goal.
In this role, you will leverage your strategic leadership and technical expertise to oversee cyber incident response, digital forensics, and proactive cyber defense initiatives. You will provide strategic direction, develop and implement cybersecurity policies, and ensure the effective management of the Cyber Operations Branch.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and coordinating cyber incident response and digital forensics investigations.
- Developing and implementing strategic plans, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborating with partner agencies, stakeholders, and security teams to enhance cybersecurity resilience.
- Providing mentorship, training, and performance management for Cyber Operations Branch staff.
- Ensuring compliance with statewide policies, industry best practices, and legal regulations.
- Staying current with emerging cybersecurity technologies, threats, and regulatory landscapes.
To succeed in this position, you will need:
- Significant experience in IT and cybersecurity roles.
- Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity, digital forensics, incident response, and risk management.
- Understanding of federal and state cybersecurity regulations and ethical considerations.
- Ability to manage projects and initiatives simultaneously.

This position is located at our Mather Campus and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule which may include up to one day of remote work per week. Additional in-office days may be required based on business needs.

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously, prioritizing and allocating resources efficiently
- Experience providing mentorship, training, and performance management to enhance the skills and capabilities of cybersecurity teams
- Ability to exercise critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills in dynamic and high-pressure situations
- Active federal security clearance within last two-years
- Proficiency in digital forensics tools and techniques
- Excellent communications skills, able to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Collaborative mindset and experience in multi-agency cybersecurity projects
- Strong problem-solving, analytic, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze complex situations, identify potential solutions, and make sound decisions
