Maintenance Worker, California Highway Patrol

As a Maintenance Worker, you will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of facilities through effective maintenance and repair tasks. Duties include but are not limited to:

Performing routine preventative maintenance of small machinery, and make recommendations for repairs/service as needed. Monitoring the buildings listed above, and their systems, to ensure the integrity of the buildings. Maintaining cleanliness of the Willow Creek Resident Post facility including mopping/waxing floors, vacuuming carpets, emptying and cleaning waste receptacles, washing windows and doors, cleaning window sills, cleaning blinds, cleaning/dusting furniture and equipment. Conduct daily cleaning of restroom facilities and re-supplying of all paper products and soap. Removes smudges/marks from all floors, doors, walls, and glass. Cleans break room including appliances, tables, cabinets, counter-top, sink, common items including dishes and refrigerator. Cleans exterior of building including the parking lot area, sidewalks, and patio area. Changes filters, replace ballasts and fluorescent bulbs, move furniture and supplies.

Qualifications:

• The position(s) require(s) a valid California Drivers License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application. Ensure you provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.
• The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.

The CHP utilizes their own Maintenance Worker certification list. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for the Maintenance Worker classification in order to be eligible to take the examination. SROA and Surplus candidates are given priority; therefore, individuals with other eligibility may be considered in the event no SROA or Surplus candidates apply. Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).
