Overview
The CHP Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of highways, and unincorporated areas throughout the state of California to protect individuals and property within their designated area. Duties
- Once hired, attend our paid, live-in CHP academy in West Sacramento
- While training in the academy, monthly pay is $6,597 with full benefits (including dependents)
- Once you graduate the 26-week academy, you'll be a sworn peace officer with the CHP and start work 10 days after graduation.
- Once graduated, you'll be promoted to "officer," and start making $122,500 annually.
- Enforce laws and regulations to maintain public safety.
- Road patrol duties.
- Respond promptly to incidents, providing first aid and CPR when necessary.
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to deter criminal activity.
- Manage conflicts effectively, utilizing conflict management techniques to resolve disputes peacefully.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies as needed for investigations or emergencies.
