What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASSOCIATE MANAGEMENT AUDITOR position at California Highway Patrol?
Under the direction of the Staff Management Auditor, the Associate Management Auditor will work independently in conducting primarily compliance audits but can also conduct internal control risk assessments and the related internal accounting, administrative, information technology, and automated systems control audits. The resulting assessments and audits will evaluate the Department's compliance with applicable state and departmental policies and procedures. The analyses and reviews must meet statutory requirements of Chapter 20000 of the State Administrative Manual (SAM). The auditor will also perform financial audits and operational reviews od departmental offices and programs, and may be requested to assist in investigations of individuals or entities where fraud or abuse is suspected. At the associate level, the auditor may also lead other auditors and/or inspectors in performing complex audit assignments. Ability to qualify for a fidelity bond and willingness to travel and work away from the headquarters office. Will consider Staff Services Management Auditor.

Working Conditions
This position requires extensive fieldwork with overnight travel of up to 25 percent throughout the State of California and may include working long and irregular hours.
