Responsibilities
California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles is seeking an Infection Preventionist to join our team. The Infection Preventionist (IP) will oversee the management of planning, organizing, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the Infection Control Program. The IP has the authority to take necessary actions to prevent and control the acquisition and transmission of infectious agents among patients, staff, and visitors.
Key responsibilities of the Infection Preventionist include surveillance, analysis, and reporting of hospital-acquired infections, educating employees on infection control practices, and developing organizational infection control standards that comply with state and federal regulations, as well as guidelines from the CDC, OSHA, and APIC.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Science (i.e. Microbiology Biology Nursing Public Health) or five (5) years of related job or industry experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience in Nursing Microbiology Biology Public Health or other healthcare related field.
Licensure:
- An active license in state of practice is required for a Registered Nurse or Clinical Lab Scientist. Certification in Infection Prevention and Control by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) to be obtained during first two (2) years of hire.
Pay Range
$51.44 - $74.58 /hour
