Certification Details BLS ACLS NRP AWHONN Job Details A hospital in California is looking for an experienced L / D nurse for a travel contract. The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience. Job Requirements Hold an active BLS certification. Hold an active ACLS certification. Hold an active NRP certification. Hold an active AWHONN certification. Hold a California License. Must have 4 years experience or more in L&D. Must have experience with high risk deliveries. Schedule Information Contract length : 13 weeks. Shifts : 12 hours, 7 AM to 7 PM. Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend. Call Requirement : Call is required - what is required varies, 30 min response time. Holidays : one major and one minor. Unit Specific Information 13th Largest center for births in California. Additional Details ACLS, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM), BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certificate required. Unit : L&D / PP - Perinatal. L&D Beds : 11 beds. triage beds : 8 beds. births per day, per year : 3300 per year. Ratios : they follow AWOHNN guidelines. FHM System : Fetal Link. EMR : Cerner. Charge Nurse : Yes - they take a patient assignment if needed. Nurse Aides / OB tech : yes they have a OB tech that scrubs in for c-sections, they will also help with triage and stock supplies. Scrub Color : provided. Tele : Nihon Kohden. Vents : No. OB / Neonatologist in house : OB attending 24 hrs. IV Team : No. RT 24 / 7 : Yes. Pharmacy 24 / 7 : Yes. C-section experience required : must have experience with circulating, scrubbing preferred. Floating : L&D floats to antepartum. Floor specific orientation : 3 shifts on unit. Common diagnosis / Types of patients : 20 weeks and above, high risk - blood pressure, multiples, diabetes, no prenatal care, Substance abuse, etc. Travel experience is preferred.
