Job Requirements
2 full years of experience
Active BLS certification
Active NRP certification
California License
Schedule Information
12 hour shifts starting at 7-7 : 30
Self-scheduling available
Every other weekend required
1 major and 1 minor holiday required
Unit Specific Information
1 day on the unit with a preceptor
6 hours in the nursery and 6 hours on pediatrics
First to float to the nursery and pediatrics
Additional Details
BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), PALS; 2 / 3 Start Date ONLY
Level III NICU
26 beds
Nurse : Patient Ratios 1 : 2 1 : 1
Common diagnoses include premature, sepsis, surgical cases like gastroschisis
Experience with titrating drips such as dopamine, dobutamine, versed, fentanyl is required
Charge nurse covers both NICU and pediatrics without assignment
