Maintenance Supervisor

Description

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, The Maintenance Supervisor leads the Maintenance employees, which is responsible for all maintenance aspects for the aseptic process facility. The Department supports the overall company goals of employee health and safety, product quality and customer satisfaction. The Maintenance Supervisor will lead his/her team through the implementation of capital projects, equipment qualifications, process validations, operation and maintenance standards and good engineering practices. 

Successful candidates will have advanced experience in food processing operations. A strong supervisory background will support the department’s strategy. He/she must have a proven track record in setting goals, achieving results and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, production support environment. 

Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:  

• Remove obstacles for the team
• Provide timely feedback and corrective action to their team to include attendance, performance and policy compliance
• Monitor performance to ensure performance goals are being met
• Schedule team and ensure tasks are executed during scheduled maintenance windows
• Work with cross functional team to complete RCAs on quality and performance issues
• Drive safety to the team and ensure team is working safely
• Understand the operations of their team and be knowledgeable enough to step in and help if needed
• Ensure team members are receiving training as needed
• Work with MRO team to ensure needed parts are ordered and appropriate spares are in stock
• Verify work order completion and ensure all work is documented
• Work with Maintenance Planner to update documents as revisions are issued
• Make decisions to ensure line and production is not delayed
• Monitor and coach team to ensure outages are corrected immediately
• Work with operations team to set priorities and relay these priorities to teams on shift

Education and/or Experience:

• Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering degree plus 10 years of experience in processing/production environment. 
• Proven track record of successful production line installation and performance improvement.
• Demonstrated managerial skills related to employee development and performance management.
• Working knowledge of engineering management software, such as M.S. Project, CAD.
• Ability to work an Alternative Work Schedule (AWS) and/or holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

• Thermal processing and Aseptic filling experience preferred. 

Physical Activity:

• Regularly reach with hands and arms
• Frequently walk and move about
• Occasionally stand, squat, bend, kneel, climb, push/pull/lift/carry 25 lbs

Equipment Operated: 

• PC, copier, phone, fax and other standard office equipment.
• Boom and scissors lift - working at tall heights

Additional Compensation – Annual Cash Bonus: You will be eligible to participate in the Gehl Foods Employee Bonus Program. For this fiscal year, your annual maximum bonus potential is up to 12% of your annualized base salary. All bonus payments are prorated based on your hire date. Under this Program, bonus payouts are dependent upon the financial performance of the company.

Working Conditions: Frequently exposed to wet and varying temperature conditions between 60-130 degrees Fahrenheit, loud noise, vibration, moving machinery/electrical parts, risk of electrical shock, airborne particles, high/precarious places, toxic/caustic chemicals, allergens including soy, milk and milk by-products and fumes from food processing equipment.

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
