Association’s Mission:

California Primary Care Association's mission is to lead and position community clinics, health centers and networks through advocacy, education, and services as key players in the healthcare delivery system to improve the health status of their communities.


Purpose of Position:

The Program Coordinator of Health Center Optimization is responsible for developing subject matter expertise and producing training and technical assistance that enhance the capabilities of community health centers and CPCA members to advance the strategic priorities of the Association. In coordination and with support from leadership, this position will provide project management, training and technical assistance, education, and advocacy.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as internal subject matter expert and manage the development and implementation of educational resources and training opportunities (including webinars, in-person workshops and conference events, toolkits and manuals, newsletter articles and/or brochures, web-content, etc.) to health centers and consortia on the topic areas of screening and addressing the social drivers of health, outreach and enrollment efforts to maintain patient coverage, and coordinated delivery of comprehensive services to special populations.
  2. Coordinate topic specific Peer Networks, Workgroups, and/or Task Forces that includes scheduling, supporting, leading, facilitating, communicating with members, and preparing content and presentations for meetings. Ensure alignment of the content with CPCA’s strategic plan, training and technical assistance, and regulatory/legislative agenda.
  3. In coordination with supervisor and grant/development staff, responsible for delivering on grant-funded deliverables that support association goals and meet funder guidelines and criteria; preparing information for grant reports.
  4. Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to raise awareness and advocate for health center interests, including review policy and performing administrative advocacy, as assigned and in coordination with supervisor.
  5. Represent the Association externally by liaising with key stakeholders and maintaining relationships. Attend and possibly present as needed at other agency and partners’ events.
Skills and Abilities Required:
  1. Proficient in project or program management.
  2. Solid time management, problem solving and organizational skills.
  3. Strong interpersonal and professional ability when engaging with Association membership, vendors, and partners.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based software and applications.
  6. Manage multiple projects, plan strategically, and adapt to frequent change in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Implement, organize, and evaluate programs and projects.
  8. Maintain a helpful attitude and collaborate with multi-departmental teams.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as lead staff to designated peer networks, work groups, task forces and committees.
  2. Support the Association’s Strategic Plan deliverables.
  3. Respond promptly and thoroughly to member inquires.
  4. Attends and participates in required Association meetings.
  5. High levels of interaction with association members, vendors, and strategic partners.
  6. Travel for national and regional meetings, trainings and site visits by air and ground transportation.
  7. Reports regularly to supervisor.
  8. Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum two years of program or departmental support experience. Experience with community health centers, member-driven associations or non-profit organizations is also preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Association Expectation:

Due to network security and hybrid work this position requires the employee to have a cell phone with a data plan and home internet service, both are reimbursed at a set rate each month. All hires are required to maintain residence in California. This is a hybrid position with employees coming into the office in downtown Sacramento.

Compensation: $69,613 - $73,708
