Under the general direction of the Program Manager, the Solar for All/ DER Analysis Program and Project Supervisor will help build and lead a multi-disciplinary team of analysts tasked with developing new solar programs and distributed energy resource (DER) analysis tools to facilitate and support California's clean energy, environmental, and equity goals. The Supervisor will take the lead in briefing Commissioners and other State Agencies, responding to requests from the State Legislature and Governor's office, and working directly with CPUC senior management and Administrative Law Judges.
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership and management - hiring, assigning work, staff training, performance management, planning the work of the section, setting priorities, and ensuring sufficient resources are available to achieve the section’s goals. Policy development - utilizing staff to develop facts and quantitative analysis to justify short- and long-term policy changes. Communication - preparing and/or editing reports, briefing Administrative Law Judges and Commissioners, making presentations before other agencies. Technical expertise - developing a deep understanding of the work areas in the section.
The position also requires the ability to learn and understand current and past policy and program implementation in the relevant subject matter area. The position requires a candidate with the skills to facilitate broad and diverse stakeholder forums, that has attention to detail, and can bring creative problem solving to develop innovative policy solutions. Successful candidates will be able to proactively anticipate risks and challenges and identify gaps and inconsistencies in performance and have a drive to ensure the successful design and implementation of CPUC policies and programs.
The Program and Project Supervisor will also contribute their broad and strategic perspective through collaboration across CPUC divisions and with other State agencies, to help meet state and commission goals.
