Campaign Manager
CRLA plans to launch a major 60th Anniversary Comprehensive Campaign. The Campaign Manager will work closely with the President and CEO, Vice President of Resource Development, Resource Development team, and Campaign Committee to help plan the campaign and keep it on schedule and progressing with a high level of visibility and momentum needed to achieve the campaign goals. We are seeking a person who is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about social justice.
This position reports to the Vice President of Resource Development. This is a hybrid position. It requires some travel (mostly within California) for meetings and events. The position is expected to work from either CRLA’s Oakland or Modesto office approximately two days per week, depending on other travel.
Essential Responsibilities
- Support the Vice President of Resource Development and consulting firm to conduct a campaign feasibility study and develop a campaign plan.
- Schedule and follow up after meetings with donors, campaign committee, and volunteers. Respond to donor and volunteer inquiries via phone and email.
- Document and track donor and volunteer engagement in DonorPerfect database.
- Manage the work of the campaign committee, providing support and guidance to ensure the volunteers’ work stays on track.
- Organize and update campaign materials.
- Work with Development Associate to acknowledge and track campaign gifts in Donor Perfect.
- Make donor thank you calls, send appreciation emails, and write thank you notes.
- Update campaign progress reports and naming opportunities.
- Work with Communications staff around campaign publicity and donor recognition.
- Handle all the arrangements for donor cultivation meetings and small campaign events.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- 3 years of non-profit fundraising experience
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills
- Experience working on a successful Capital or Comprehensive Campaign
- Experience working with a donor or CRM database, such as DonorPerfect, Raiser’s Edge, or SalesForce
- Ability to excel in independent and team-based work and to collaborate effectively with diverse constituencies
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to occasionally work unconventional hours and travel for fundraising activities
- Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master’s Degree or equivalent
- Bi-lingual (Spanish)
- Working experience with DonorPerfect is a plus

Compensation & Benefits:
We offer a diverse, family-friendly environment and compensation based on competitive public interest salaries; generous benefits package which includes 100% employer-covered medical, dental, vision, life, and short & long-term disability insurance for employees and up to 50% for dependents coverage; and 401K retirement plan with CRLA contribution effective immediately. Generous paid leave policy which includes; 15 days of sick leave, 15 holidays each year, and vacation (accrue 15 days for the first year of service and 20 days after one year of service at CRLA). This is a non-union position, and the salary ranges from (Staff Attorney: $74,000-$85,000).
