Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Landscape Manager to oversee the installation and maintenance of landscapes at California's Great America. This is a mid-level, full-time position that requires strong knowledge of native plants, ornamental flowers, and urban agriculture.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement landscape maintenance plans and work schedules that define goals and strategies for reaching objectives.
- Provide direction and leadership to landscape maintenance associates by implementing programs and inspiring them to reach their full potential.
- Select, train, direct, schedule, evaluate, and discipline staff while maintaining documentation.
- Maintain professional, trained, and motivated staff through effective performance and development programs.
- Respond to guest and associate concerns and provide necessary information and tools for duties.
- Evaluate and ensure compliance with maintenance policies and procedures.
- Liaise with park departments to identify solutions and follow up on landscape concerns.
- Prepare accurate cost analyses and forecast project completion dates.
- Gather data for submission of required reports in a timely manner.
- Implement quality-assurance measures and ensure follow-up.
- Communicate effectively with management, associates, and customers.
- Perform preventative maintenance and document equipment checks.
- Stay updated on current trends and practices in the field and make recommendations.
- Assist in preparing operation plans and budgets, ordering parts and supplies, and monitoring operations within budget guidelines.
- Follow established accounting procedures for purchases and expenses.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 3-5 years of related experience in landscape maintenance, irrigation, pest control, arbor care, turf, and ornamental horticulture.
- Demonstrated experience in landscape maintenance, supervisory experience, and certification in NCDEA or ability to obtain within 1 year.
- Good communication skills and basic computer skills, especially for dealing with the public and associates.
